Time flies aka 10 years at ClassDojo 🥳

It’s become a bit of a tradition over the past few years to quietly celebrate my work anniversary. It started with my favorite number seven, then came the “less exciting” ones… and now this one really feels special. 10 years. A full decade. That’s 30% of my entire life — quite a chunk.

I joined ClassDojo when I was 22 — a young dev who had already been building websites and apps for a few years, but was still very much a newcomer to the iOS world. It was the era of iOS 8, people were still adjusting to the death of skeuomorphism, Swift didn’t exist yet, and the ClassDojo codebase had just a few thousand lines of Objective-C.

Back then, I had no idea what this journey might become — and what it actually has become.

Today, ClassDojo is in a position most companies can only dream of. And somehow, it still feels like we’re just getting started.

I’m grateful for everything that’s happened over the past ten years, and genuinely excited about what the next ones will bring. Thanks to everyone who’s been part of the ride.

As my Slack profile says today - “10 years and counting”, baby 🥳
